Okay, I confess, I’m absolutely guilty as charged. This birthday post is a solid two months overdue! Oops! But, as the saying goes, it’s always better late than never to celebrate such a significant milestone, right? The Grand Plan: A Winnie the Pooh Winter Wonderland (Almost)
Let’s rewind a bit, back to the very first days of January. With Grant’s birthday falling so close to the New Year’s festivities, finding the perfect celebration date always proves a bit tricky. However, we managed to set a wonderful day, guests were invited, and my mind was buzzing with plans. My vision? A magical Winnie the Pooh themed birthday party, meticulously planned from A to Z. I imagined a delightful spread of themed treats, charming decorations, and all our beloved friends and family gathered to shower Grant with love as he stepped into toddlerhood. The decorations were mentally mapped out, the menu was in progress, and the excitement was palpable.
But then, Mother Nature decided to have her own moment. Just when everything was meticulously coming together, a severe snow blizzard swept through, forcing us to cancel the big party at the very last minute. Boo! To say I was disappointed would be a huge understatement. My heart was set on celebrating our sweet boy with everyone we cherished. However, when faced with icy roads and treacherous travel conditions, safety had to come first. It was a tough decision, but ultimately the right one.

Despite the unexpected change of plans, we absolutely still got to celebrate our baby’s first birthday, just on a slightly smaller, more intimate scale. We were incredibly fortunate that Grant’s devoted grandparents and brave great-uncle were able to navigate the nasty weather and icy roads to join us. Their presence alone made the day incredibly special, proving that love truly knows no bounds, not even a blizzard! - Born to Dance: Oh, and is he a dancer! Grant absolutely adores music and has a spontaneous rhythm that’s simply infectious. He’ll break into his adorable dance moves whenever music is playing, or when he takes a particularly tasty bite of food, or even when the cell phone rings with its cheerful jingle.
